Carolina Araoz is a Peruvian singer and saxophone player who currently lives in Spain studying at Berklee College of Music. Fitting into the Latin side of jazz, her music is underpinned by the African inspired festejo rhythm, a popular Peruvian music and dance form and crucial part of Afro Peruvian history. Her recent track 'Calma' found itself top-of-the-pops on Jazz FM's February playlist. It was during a recording session for Snarky Puppy and Susana Baca when Jazz FM DJ Tony Minvielle connected with Carolina and introduced her to his colleagues in the UK.
